Self-service borrowing [premium pro]

Created 14 days ago

The self-service borrowing feature allows group members to borrow books by scanning them from their smartphone without needing staff intervention.

You can specify that books are available for self-service borrowing by going to the menu from your group and choosing Add / remove your books. A window opens with the shelf names. Choose the shelf for which you want to enable self-service borrowing, then tap the gear icon to access Shelf options.

Start by activating the Books available on-site option to reveal the Location of books field and the Books available for self-service option. Use the location field to specify where the books are located. This information will be displayed on the books from this shelf in the group. Enable the self-service option and tap Save.

There are two ways to borrow books in self-service mode. Either directly from the group in the MyBlio app by choosing Borrow in the menu of one of the available books or by scanning the QR code displayed near the physical books (probably a bookshelf). In both cases, the borrower must have access to the physical books in order to take the borrowed one. Only group members can perform self-service borrowing.

You can download a poster that includes a QR code by going to the menu of the group, then Sharing options. A window opens, tap the Download poster button.

📝 Note: the borrower can report the return of the book directly from the MyBlio app.
