Borrowing a book

Created 2 months ago

To request to borrow a book, tap on the book you wish to borrow and then tap Borrow at the top. A pop-up will open with the details of the request. Tap Send request, and a request will be sent to the book's owner.

You can find all your borrowing requests in the Exchanges section, then in the Requests > Mine tab. Until the request is either accepted or refused, you have the option to cancel it. If the request is refused, it will disappear from the Requests > Mine tab.

Steps of a borrowing request:

  1. Request sent: the owner is notified of the request and can accept or refuse it.
  2. Request accepted: the request is moved to Requests > Accepted in the Exchanges section. The loan does not start until the exchange is confirmed. This action can be carried out by either the borrower or the owner.
  3. Exchange confirmed: the book has been handed over to the borrower, and the loan period begins. The loan is now visible under Borrowing in the Exchanges section.

Returning the book:

While the loan is ongoing, it may be useful to be able to contact the book's owner. To do this, you can use the messaging system by going to the Borrowing tab in the Exchanges section. Find the relevant loan, then tap the [···] icon and select Contact from the menu.
